HERE TO BE HEARD

Search ME in conjunction wit MERGE and The TYMES Trust is helping to finance a new research programme into the causes of  ME/CFS in children. To investigate a group of children with well defined ME/CFS in whom there is the possibility of long lasting chronic ill health. The aim is to detect, for the first time, abnormalities in cellular behaviour and vascular responses that may become foci for future interventions.

Research into children with ME/CFS is almost non-existent yet crucial as it is fast becoming one of the commonest causes of long term school absence in previously fit populations.

The project is taking place in the Peripheral Vascular Diseases Research Unit, Department of Medicine, University of Dundee.
